I'm wondering, when you create a callout in section, I have the option of choosing "Detail View: Detail" or "Section: Building Section." What is the difference between these two types? I've noticed that the "building section" option gives me the option in properties of "Show in: (parent view, etc)", while the detail view option does not. I also see that chosing "building section" places a view in the sections as "Callout of xxxx" while "detail view" puts the view in details. Does anyone have any advice on the correct use or typical use for these different options? What really is the main difference between these? I haven't been able to find anything in help or the forums about these different choices.

In addition to the things you mentioned: - detail callouts vs. section callouts may use different annotation symbols.
- detail views can be set to show in intersecting views - for instance if you have a detail view callout in your floor plan you can set it to display as a horizontal section in an elevation of the same area of the model.

When I first posted this, I believe that I didn't want the section annotation to show up after placing a callout view in the building section. Now I do want this function, and for some reason when I place a callout in the building section view, no detail section annotation shows up in the plan view. Any ideas/thoughts as to why a callout view is no longer creating a corresponding section annotation?
