Any one else having trouble placing a face-based component in a legend? Using RAC 2008.

Yes, they are all coming in 90 degrees wrong. Any solution to this?

Did you ever find the solution to the rotation problem? I'm in Revit Architecture 2010 and face based families insert rotated 90 degrees in a legend view.

The same issue occurred in 2011 I would say the workaround is to replicate the component in detail lines. you can trace over the component in legend view and then rotate it. It is not the smartest move but it works.
