Greetings, I am an intern who just started at a mid-sized Revit-loving firm focusing on BIM and sustainability. I have only a year in the field (all work experience, no schooling), and using AutoCAD 2000 at that, so any articles, tips, tricks, resources, or anything anybody knows of that can expedite my familiarity with Revit (I'm using 9.1, although we have 200 I would appreciate it. Also, anything that would help me further my knowledge of BIM and sustainable building would be very helpful. Oh, and because it will come up, I went through all of the built-in tutorials. Danke. -St Broadrick

Mate you probably have the best advantage when it comes to using Revit... Most people that are starting out with Revit don't have the support and back-up as you would have being in an office that's already using Revit... The only advice I can give is to purchase books and visit the online forums.... Good luck........

Revit and sustainable building, they really do go hand in hand. Why? Shadows. Being able to show a developer how keeping that tree on the lot will help with passive heating and cooling loads, or showing a residential client exactly how an overhang will work on a certain day at the exact lat and long of their site is GREAT! We have been able to encourage several clients to go for a different orientation or a slightly modified design by using the sun and shadow settings. Even just in hidden line, it is a powerful, easy to understand (though slightly memory consuming) tool. Just click on the advanced model graphics setting and set it up for your exact location.
