I'm trying to figure out how to get the leader line, that comes from the room tag when you drag it out of a room, to originate from the left or right center of the room name. We have a custom room tag the contains other information (finish, ceiling, etc.) within types in that family. We use that same tag but just select the different type for each view. The problem now is that when dragged out of the room, the leader comes from the center of the family on whichever side is closest to the room. I have included an image that shows what happens. The hidden lines in the image is how I want it to appear. I have made sure that the room name is positioned at the intersection of the reference lines in the family. That does not seem to help. I have to get this resolved because our drawings go out in 2 weeks. Any help will be appreciated!

In RA 2008 (that is what we have installed) You should be able to pick the room tag with leader. There are two blue dots. Move the dot closest to the tag to get the result you desire. See the attached image

We are also using RA2008. Unfortunately, that only works when you have 1 or 2 lines of text. Our room tag consists of a number of boxes under the room name. Moving the grips of the leader does not work!!! I've attached our room tag so that you can see for yourself.

Try the one I have modified (attached). I simply created a new blank room tag annotation family. By default these have reference planes that define the origin. I then copied and pasted your room tag into this one. I then moved it down from the origin, (move the "room" tag to about where the leader appears to come from). By default Revit picks the middle of the tag for the origin. Now I don't know if this work for you. It is very tricky the way it works. You may get a differnent result if you replace the tag in an existing drawing than if you use it in a new one. I will be interested what result you get. Please also note that we use metric measurements so you may need to repeat the process above yourself. look foward to hearing the result.
