Hi,

I've searched the forum but couldn't find the answer.

I have a column that is constrained to Level 1. How can I edit this so that the cplumn is not constrained to a level? In the element properties, I can't seem to change this. The 'Base Level' and 'Top Level' options only have the model levels in. I know I could delete the column and add another one but I wanted to find out if I could edit it instead.

Thanks,

Phil.

I dont think you can set a column to unlimited like you can with a wall. Why do you want an unconstrained column?

I'm not sure I do yet. I've just started using Revit having come from 3D+ so I'm still getting to grips with it at the moment. Someone mentioned to me that when you highlight the column, there is a 'disassociate box' that appears but I don't get this.

I am not sure about disassociate, but there is detach in the options bar. If you attach the top of a column to a beam, it will move with the beam. Detach will make the column use the offset you give it in its properties.
