you can bring SketchUp models directly into Revit.

There are certain thing that won't import, but the pure SketchUp stuff will import

so when you move from REVIT to sketchup... you export as a 2007 DWG... then do you have to take it into AutoCAD and export it again or something?  When I try to take the file straight from REVIT to SketchUp all I get is flat linework and no 3D masses... did I miss a step?

Did you export to dwg from a 3D view?  It can't be from a plan.

When in Revit( a 3D view), go to file export cad format.  Then change it to a 2004 cad file and then go into the options. Under solids, make sure it says "Export as ACIS solids"  Click ok and then save.  Now open sketchup and import your cad file and it should work.

You want to export a 3d view and I would recommend using polymeshes instead of acis solids.  sketchup and viz use polymeshes best, autocad does both alright.
