Can Revit automatically do breaklines and dash the hidden part of the ramp above like it does with stairs?... Or do I have to do a masked region in dashed lines with a brekline squiggle on it?

Why do you ask this? Seems to me that all you have to do is look at your ramp plan .... Did you notice that the ramp is cut horizontally at the level of your view just as all the rest of your model is cut. Notice that this moves up and down the ramp relative to your view level set in the VP. If you want a break line, you will have to add it.

this is a problem that many people are asking about. i can't get the ramp to show the cut, like stairs do... even though i've checked the project settings, and ramps show an option for cutting and overhead dashed lines, just like the stairs. even though i've built a ramp that goes up to the level above, it just shows it uncut in the plan view. is there a hidden setting somewhere that allows ramps to be cut like stairs do?

If your ramp is a Revit ramp, not a mass or something else, it will be cut at the level of the view cut plane.

unfortunately this is not the case for me, (i'm using revit architecture 2010 with all the default view settings) when i make a revit ramp go all the way to the floor above (ex. car garage ramp), it does not cut in the view like the revit stairs do. it also looks like everyone else but you in the forum has the same experiance i am having, and the only solution is that you have to use a region over the ramp, and then manually draw the breakline... how are you getting your ramps to display the breaklines like they should?

I'm sorry - looks like Ramps don't cut in 2010. I think I may have had the same problem in 9.1 so I used a sloping floor for a parking garage ramp. I just checked that and it cuts in 2010.
