what is the best way to create a parking lot that conforms to a topographic surface? also, what is the best way to model curbs on this non-flat surface?

Creating a subregion of your overall topo surface is usually the best way to create a parking lot. However, the parking area will always be at the same level as the rest of the topo surface. You can also split the region, but this creates a totally separate region that must be edited individually. These options work best after you have set all of the topo elevations to the overall region. As far as curbs go, you're only option is flat. There may be some other work arounds (check other postings), but I have not found anything that works good. You can try creating walls with the top of the wall as the curb and edit the wall profile vertically, but this is a real pain for complex contours. It seems to me like Revit does buildings well, but is real weak when it comes to site design.
