My white GYP walls appear grey when rendered.
The lights are rendering but don't seem to be giving off enough light.
The light coming from the windows creates harsh shadows and leaves grey and white stripes on my walls.
The GYP board's material is set to pure white.
Any help you could provide would be great.
Thanks,
W

This is one of the pitfalls i've found with accurender lite in revit. Areas in complete shadow will often render a very unrealistic solid colour rather than being variated as it would be in real lilfe. The only thing i can suggest is to try to manipulate the lighting to brighten this area or use the adjust image tool to change the brightness and contrast to get it to a more realistic level.
Also, just as a check make sure the pure white material link isn't a dead link and is actually referring to a true file in your accurender settings.
HTH.

Thank you for the alternative recourses.
How do I check to see if pure white is a dead link? I am not familiar with this practice.
Thanks again,
W

Locate the material in
Settings-->Materials...
Then under accurender texture click the arrow, if the file is found it will automatically locate it in the accurender library, if nothing comes up its a dead link...
Simply redirect to a material in your library.

hi,
i've found that if i edit the actual material, i can change the ''self luminosity'' on the wall material, so it lights itself up no probs. it might take a bit of trial and error, but it works.

Thank you for the idea.
When I try to edit the material's self luminosity - I recieve an 'material is read only' message.
Can I copy this material and place it under my user accurender category for manipulation? I have been searching how to create new materials, but the tutorials and accurender help category does not provide this information. I would appreciate any suggestions you have on this.

I think all you need to do is edit materials already there, and than save it in user materials as you said, thats all i've done and it works.
