I'm trying to create a family for granular fill under a concrete slab, and the gravel fill pattern I've used appears too large at the scale of my wall sections. Does anyone know how to scale a fill pattern or otherwise stipulate how it is going to be sized in a given view?

Revit consists of two types of fill patterns, drafting and model.
A model fill pattern will scale depending on the view. A drafting fill pattern will always be the same in "print scale" regardless of the view scale.
So try changing the pattern to use a model pattern.

OOOH, I ws optimistic that would work! But when I went to the detail I had created to try to change the hatch to the model type I downloaded, I received an error message that "no drafting type patterns found". In other words, it wouldn't let me fill that region with the model fill pattern. I should have mentioned that this is basically a 2D wall section I'm trying to manipulate. Any other ideas?

I'm having the same problem. I learned that model fill patterns cannot be assigned to sectioned elements. Only drafting patterns can be.
Did you come across a solution for changing the scale of a drafting pattern?

As mentioned on my blog its easy to change between drafting and model patterns:
How do I change a model pattern to a drafting pattern or vice versa?
Edit the PAT file using notepad and add or change the following values:
;%TYPE=MODEL for model or
;%TYPE=DRAFTING for drafting.
You can also set the units with the following operator:
;%UNITS=MM to set to millimetres…

Hi Chris,
Concrete fill pattern (drafting) appears to be designed for a 1”=1’ scale and does not appear to be rescale able. I wanted the cut pattern in my sections to be correct at 1/2”=1’. I copied the concrete text out of revit.pat and copy/pasted into a new file concrete 2.pat and renamed it concrete 1/2 in text header. Then imported and scaled this pattern as concrete 1/2.

That's correct.
No custom pattern in revit once imported is re-scaleable. To change the scale you need to re-import it.

Is it now possible in Version 12 (Architecture and/or Structure) to scale imported custom patterns after import?
