Probably an easy question, but is there a way to turn off the material cut view in a section without turning it off in a floor plan view? Our firm likes to show the actual bricks in a section view, but a cross hatch in the plan view. I can use the repeating brick pattern in the detail components library, but when I turn off the cut pattern, it turns if off in the plan view. Using 9.1 Thanks

If you are talking about in the materials dialog then no. The Plan and Cut view use the same pattern. This is something I hope Autodesk changes soon. What I have done is to make sure my detail component has filled regions and masking regions to cover up the cut patterns. I am pretty sure the default "2 Core CMU" detail component is set up this way.
