OK got another problem here too it seems. I need a triple run stair... starts at first floor goes up to a landing, up a 2nd run of stairs to a landing, and then over the 1st run I need to make a 3rd run of stair to the second floor. It's just not happening here. What am I doing wrong or not doing correctly?

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |

Sorry, the multistory stair is what I was thinking of and that's NOT what you want. Looking at it now.

Quickly, I was not able to achieve this, even with a workaround. This may be one of those instance where you need to make a "landing level" and make stairs to it, then make anothe 'U' stair that finishes the run.

You can do triple run stairs but ..... You will see a limit for spiral stairs at <360 degrees and that is the basic rule for straight run stairs as well but...... U shaped stairs work as well as z but you cannot turn back overtop of a run below. You can have straight run stairs that exceed 360 degreese but the runs can not be above another. (They can be beside another run below)Edited on: Mon, Jul 23, 2007 at 10:19:42 AM

Yeah, I think the trick here is that he wanted the 3rd run to be directly over the 1st run.

"Yeah, I think the trick here is that he wanted the 3rd run to be directly over the 1st run." I understood that but most people assume that you can't do triple run stairs or stairs that are more than 360 degrees from beginning to end. I answered the way I did to broaden the thought process and still give an answer.
