Is there a version of Revit currently available that is compatable with a 64 operating system?

far as i know there is not.

but i attend just about every seminar in my area given by Autodesk or major Autodesk training faculities, and i have heards rumors that the 64-bit(Vista Version) of revit is only 2-3 months away. hopefully there is some merit to those rumors.

Depends on what you mean compatable...will Revit work/run on Vista?  Yes.

Is revit a 64 bit program yet? No.  That releas should be comming soon.

when you speak of Vista you have to make clear you are

either talking about Vista32 or Vista64- huge difference..

no 32 bit anything will work with Vista64.. (other than

"emulation" for running old 32 bit apps in an emergency)

Vista32 is really just the new Vista GUI running on the

old NT/XP kernel.. and it doesn't run programs as well as XP..

there is not much purpose in Vista32- other than to

learn about the future.. i figure i will start learning Vista

when Revit goes 64 bit and then i buy new 64 bit hardware

and Vista64..

I'm running revit on xp64 and it is much faster than our other duo core machines and can take advantage of more ram.  But as others said revit will install as an x32 software.

I'm running Revit on Vista 64 bit and it all seems fine. Other programs....no. My Canon printer is a huge paperweight.

There was mention of Revit 64 at the user group meeting out here. Basically they are working on it. 2009 will not initially be 64 bit capable but they are hoping to have a service pack that would enable 64 bit capabilities sometime in the middle of the year. If not then it should show up in Revit 2010.

BTW this came from someone who works for autodesk, but it was unofficial information.

I run Revit Architecture 2008 installed on a Vista Ultimate 64-bit system and they operate perfectly with no problems at all. So if you worried about Revit '08 not being compatible with a 64-bit system, dont be. AutoCAD on the other hand is a PAIN to get running on x64 system... but it is possible. I believe that Autodesk released AutoCAD 2008 in a 64bit version. So I would believe this option would be available in Revit 2009.
