Can someone help me on a better way to create this dormer. I created it using a solid object, then pulled it into the roof. The problem is in a section view, you see the oject inside the roof area. This is just a false dormer that will be framed on the face of the roof. Is there a way to just create the shape as you see it in the image and not have it extend through the roof as a solid.

Using 9.1

Thanks

Can you try making it as a roof and use the roof join tool?

Not sure how to make it as a roof. What would be the best way to do that?

Go to the elevation view, roof by extrustion, sketch the shape of the roof, finish sketch.  Then use the roof join tool.

Okay, should I open a front elevation view or side and do the sketch. I would think the front so I get the correct radius shape.

Thanks

Thanks for your help. This worked perfectly. I am sure you now this already, but creating it from the front elevation was the way to go.
