I have just converted a file from 9.1 to 2008 and am having issues with callout annotation visibility on duplicated views. I have a building broken up into two sections for sheet layout. I have duplicated the main view and assigned each to scope boxes. If I turn the scope boxes off the callouts show back up. I can fix this problem using the new dependent view tool but I would like to find a work around to avoid setting up all new views/sheets. Any help?

We have had this questions a few times. 2008 has two crop regions, the regular and an annotation crop region... make sure the annotation crop region isnt croping any part of your callout. If not that check visibility graphics. I have read some places that it is a glitch with 2008, but I havnt seen it my self, and havnt had any issues with it being a glitch. Try thoes and see if that works. Also did you just duplicate or duplicate with detail? If only dupicate I dont think it will bring the annotations with. HTHGrant Doherty

No go. Duplicate w/ detailing causes the callouts to disappear w/ no scope boxes or crops? I started fixing this problem using the dependent views and the same thing happens there, very frusturating I'm begining to think it may be related to phasing somehow but I've screwed around with that and am spinning my tires. Are you from Colorado or just a Broncos fan? Thanks for the help.

I am from Colorado and I am a Broncos fan. I looked at this more cloesly and got some help and we figured it out. When creating a call out on floor plan the drop down says "Floor Plan" the other choice is "Detail View: Detail." "Floor Plan" will only show up in the parent view, not in a duplicated view (reason to come in next post). "Detail View: Detail" can be slected to show up only in parent view or in them all, but you dont want to use a "Detail View" for floor plan. The callout stayed when I duplicated as dependent so im not sure why yours isnt. If you dont want to go back and do a duplicate as dependent of all your views, the only other way is to make a new call out in ever view, but reference the original. There is a reason for the "Floor Plan" call out only showing in the parent view, and I will get that information posted in a few.
