A new door family I made is still showing the wall edges (or something) in plan. As far as I can tell, the settings in the family are correct, any unnecessary symbolic lines have been deleted, and none of the other doors in the project are displaying like this, so I'm stumped. Also, though the screen display and image exports are fine, the filled region in my tel-data outlet symbol isn't printing correctly. The symbol is only shown as an outline. The same annotation used in the outlet family, when placed directly into the project, prints correctly, and other annotations that include filled regions are fine, too. Again, I've tried everything I can think of and still, nothing. I'm working in 2008, and a pic of the door is included below so you can see what I'm talking about. TIA, Meg

If the new door family has a solid extrusion for the actual door panel (that shows in 3D) you will want to make sure that extrusion does not show up in floor plan views. Do this by selecting the door panel in the family editor, clicking 'Visibility' at the top in the Options Menu. Then deslect plan/rcp in the Visibility Dialog. I'm afraid I can't piece together what is happening with the Annotation symbol. Have you tried printing to PDF to see if it does the same thing?

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |

I've already checked and double checked that the door panel extrusion is turned off, plus, the panel is much thinner than the lines on the plan, so that's not the issue. I've never had problems building doors before, and this one was started by a less-experienced coworker, so she may have done something that she doesn't realize and I can't find. I'd hate to have to start from scratch, but if no one here knows what's up, I might have to. *le sigh* Re The Tel-Data symbol: I tried printing to PDF as you suggested, and did get the same results as printing to physical media. I'm not sure if this is telling or not, but at least now I have something to post so that everyone can see what I'm talking about. You'll notice that the floor outlet that is only an annotation symbol reads just fine.

When printing the sheet or whatever has the annotation on it try to use "Raster Processing" and not "Vector Processing" in the Print Set up menu.
