I am trying to replicate the reveals above and below the window in the attached photo. When using a wall reveal sweep how can you limit the length of the reveal. The sweep goes the entire length of the wall. I tried splitting the wall into smaller sections, I.E. the width of the window but got strange results. For example the wall didn't split where I selected but at the nearest brick joint. (Brick Wall). Using Revit 2008... Any suggestions for replicating the attached picture reveals?

You won't use the wall sweep tool for this. you would build the void into your window family or create a generic wall based family with the void in it.

After you add the reveal to the full length of the wall, you can then grab the ends and pull them back to where you want them. This works relatively well for single instances but when you have multiple instances along the same elevational plane, you have more problems. For these, you end up placing multiple reveals, one at a time, at the same elevation then dragging the end of each revial into position. Not easy to do! It would sure be nicer if you could split reveals!

sdbrown-I tried using a void in the window family but can get it to show up in the Model. I must be missing a step, could you elaborate the process, please?
