I'VE JUST RECENTLY UPGRADED FROM REVIT 8.1 TO REVIT ARCH 2008 AND WHEN I OPENED AN EXISTING FILE TO REVISE IT FOR THE CUSTOMER, I'M HAVING MIXED ISSUES. ELEVATIONS AND A NORMAL 3D VIES SHOW MY WALL PATTERNS CORRECT AND HAVE THE RIGHT COLOR TO THEM. HOWEVER WHEN I GO TO A VIEW USING A CAMERA VIEW THEN ALL MY PATTERNS TURN BLACK. COULD THIS BE SOMETHING I MISSED IN THE TRANSITION OVER TO 2008???

The visibilty options for surface and cut patterns are a bit different in 2008. Try changing the color in the override options for the view ('VG' (opens Visibility Graphics), go to the catagory that's giving you problems, IE: Walls. Under Projection/Surface there is a column for Surfaces. Click in that box and you'll get an override option.) You can change the color of the surface lines here. See if that helps. Let us know. I had this same problem when upgrading from 9.1 to 2008. HTH

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |

Your camera view is just too small, you must have a drafting pattern on your wall and its too close together so in perspective you see only black. Pick the crop region, then in the options bar change the size(scale) to something like 24" w and that should fix it. If you need the view that small you will need to turn off surf patterns in that view.

This could also be the problem. I assumed however, that he checked the colors by zooming in. The color changing issues is a common one from people upgrading to 2008, since it handles pattern colors and overrides slightly different.
