Has anyone come up with a way to set up a plan view where you only see the wall “cores” ie the finishes on your will eg plaster board and tiling are not visible. Currently if I want to do a concrete wall set out plan, all the concrete walls which have a finish like furring channel and plaster board need to be drawn as a separate wall, which then is filtered out. This is a bit of a pain, and I can figure out a way to turn off, filter out a finish on a wall. Thanks Brian

You can't just turn them off however you can overide their appearance so the core is say heavy black and the finish is thin and light grey or white if you want it off. to do this open your plan view, set to fine level of detail, then click VV or view visibility, then in the lower right corner there is a check box for "Overide Host Layers" Click that and modify as you want. Note you can save this as a view template. It works for sections too.

Thanks sdbronw That solution is not as versatile as I might like, but I will save me on some of the items I need to document. Brian :-)

I have also come across this issue. Thanks sdbrown for the workaround. It will work for me until the people at Autodesk make the visibilities more flexible. Thanks again for this forum thread.
