I have a problem placing a callout on plan in most of my plan views (though it worked in one and it's nothing to do with visability, cause callouts are on in visability graphics). We also noticed that callouts dissapeared from plan from our previous projects. We recently switched to Revit 2008 can that be a bug? regards

Visibility issues. With Revit 2008 there is 2 crop regions, the view crop and an annotation crop...make sure your annotation crop is not cutting thoes out. You said you checked VG so that shouldnt be it. View Depth shouldnt make a different, and worksets and phases shouldnt effect callouts. So try looking where your annotaion crop is, and secondly click the light bulb on the bottom of the screne (next to where you find the sunglasses, scale, etc.) Then see if you can see them when you activated the light bulb. If you can click on them and unhide them. With 9.1 you still could hide certain annotations and that might be why they are shut off when braught into 2008. So look at thoes 2 things. HTH

thank you all for replying- i checked, view crop is causing it, so if i need my view cropped i'am in trouble i may need to download the new version as one of u suggested, but it means re-install Revit, right? i already re-installed Revit about 5 weeks ago after using 2008 for couple of weeks(other bugs)-would you say that they changed something in it after a month or so? regards Anna

we have only been using 2008 for less than 30 days. I dont know why the disc we got had an older version, i reinstalled 2008 from the link, last night and this morning everything was working again callouts dont disapear when the crop region is turned on/off. but now i cant get the room tags to show up. when i make a callout and open it. dim's and rooms disappear i can put the dim's back in but when i try the rm's and i get the same error msg. about visibilitly and what not. that is why i am here again today, to see if there is somone else, and if they know how to fix it.

I was experiencing the same issue. After countless unproductive hours working under the assumption that I was doing something wrong, I discovered this discussion thread. The update resolved the issue. Adesk needs to build a software update utility into Revit so that we know when an update is available. I am under subscription and I didn't know it was there.
