This question might sound silly, but how do i Turn off the roof hatching in my roof plan or an any view? I am using Revit architecture 2008. I want to see the shingles in my 3d model, but not in the roof plan.

 Thanks.

In RAC 2008 you can select the roof, right click and choose to "override graphics in view" (either catagory or element) then override the surface patterns there to solid white fill, etc.

OR before that you can type VG (or vv) and override the category there.

Its better to override the entire category rather than on a by element basis...  They are just easier to disable by category rather than by element.

For what it's worth:

I would not necessarily say better, just a different circumstance. Usually I find overrides are not just project specific but can be mostly view specific, so knowing both major ways of overriding objects should lead to a more mindful user.

Both options are only view specific...
