   hi all masters

  i m trying to dimension my topography but i couldn't....  only solution i can find it is to create the model lines or detail lines and dimension them BUT if i delete those dimension line it deletes dimension too.. my question is any way i can delete detail or model lines after dimensioning them... plz help my guys i have to submit this at the end of this week.

No you can't dimension to topography...

If you delete one of the dimensions references the dimension is removed.  Unlike AutoCAD so you don't end up with incorrect dimensions.

You have a few options...

 Dimension to reference planes "they can be set not to print in your print properties".  Or place walls or floors as appropriate on your topography and dimension to those.  Without looking at a screenshot its difficult to say whats best for you but the reference planes should get you out of trouble.

Use them sparingly as i strongly suggest not using them as a basis for all your dimensions otherwise you could end up with a really inaccurate drawing just like autoCAD. This would totally compromise the co-ordination advantages of a BIM...  Which you don't want.

 i understand the reason of BIM tech with autocad... i m working with ur tricks i'll let u know if thats work.... here i m attching my site plan with it if u have any more suggestion how to domension it.... i'll be glad and i owe u big time
