I have a beam system that is definied by a rectangle. I want there to be a beam at the start, a beam at the end, and a fixed number of beams inbetween that are spaced equal distance appart. Is this possible? When you do fixed number, it automaticaly justifies the beams in the center, and adds the same spacing from the edge to the beam as it does inbetween beams. If you do a fixed distance and justify it at the start/end, it will start with a space, and then the beam, not a beam then the space. Any advice, or is what I am tryint to accomplish not possible with beam systems? Thanks in advance!

Revit assumes that you'll want your start and end beams to be different and therefore does not include them in your beam system. Just tab select one of the individual beams of the system and copy it across to the desired location and adjust as necessary.

noticed this post is from 2007. Has there been a solution to this. I have tried and still cannot put a joist at the beginning and end of my beam system. Wish it was an option to check if you wanted a member on the ends.

put those in first, then finish out with beam system. I am assuming that you are working on a residential type of building. Revit in this case is set up better for a large building, which has a strutural frame, with beams and girders, at say 20 to 30 foot centers, the beam system is set up so that in future a metal pan be placed over, and then concrete.

Not residential. We have buildings with joist girders and joist spanning between column lines. We need a joist on the column line. See attached.

go ahead and place those girders between your columns by hand, you can copy paste, or array. If it was me they would likely be somewhat larger than the joists, then you can pick them and create your beam systems in between. It is so automated that once you have selected the beam system, and place the cursor inside those column beam lines it will automatically set them.
