also; if you look at the exterior wall the thick line is actually two lines representing drywall on one side and veneer on the other; because they're set really thick they blend together; can I adjust that; anyone knows how to modify wall components...?

not sure about your elevation tag. It could be just a graphics glitch. Are you using 2008 by any chance? There has been some graphics problems with the release. What happens when you bring your elevation to a sheet?

To adjust your line weights on your wall, those would be common edges. If you goto your object styles under settings, look under "walls". You'll find common edges there and select a thinner lineweight for your cut. If you want the outer wall thicker, then adjust the cut where it says "wall"

lineweights ok...cool thanks...

as far as the tags... I'm on 9.1 and these tags were ok for some time (couple weeks) just last week they started showing that; and I asumed it's some kind of error message? my elevation sheets show north, south, west as it should; same thing is shown in properties when i click on the tag in plan....? can i reload tags or something? i'm out of ideas...

Still not quite sure about the tag. Have a look under Settings>View Tags>Elevation Tags and check what your text font is there. It looks like you might have one of those fonts that displays symbols, or arabic/greek/fit any other language in here.

looks like the elevation tag is showing up like that because the font setting for the text in the elevation tag family is set to one of those wierd fonts.  try opening up the family and changing the font.
