Im currently using Revit 2008.  At my firm we use Revit but we whave started to do our details in Autocad and just are going to create a pdf and insert it into our 24 x 36 const. doc. set. My question is how do I create tags; detail, sections, etc....without having it associate to something and just have it refer to my details on my detail sheet created in autocad.  Any thoughts?

Try creating drafting views in your Revit project.  They can simply be blank views and for tracking purposes name them with the detail number in yuor AutoCAD set.  i.e. 3/A2.  Then when you are placing a section check the box called reference other view and choose your drafting view as the view to reference.  You only get one shot at this and that is before you click to place the section.  If you happen to place the section and want to change it to reference other view, you have to delete the section mark and start over.  I don't think this works for elevations though, but may work for plan callouts.
