I have created 3 options in my design option set and I’m trying to make option 3 (no primary) option to become my primary option so I can Accept that option as primary. When I highlight option 3 and click on make primary under the primary menu, Revit thinks for a min. and then does nothing. I can’t seem to figure out how to make option 3 my primary….Has anyone come across this issue in Revit 9.0

I think you may have to delete the current primary to make this work right. That's not really a problem because REVIT will delete all other options when you accept the primary.

Well it sounds like a bug with the version of Revit you are using. I don't have a copy of 9.0 to test. All I can say is upgrade... You realise you are 3 full releases behind the current version? May I ask why? From my experience there are only two reasons to not be using the current version. 1. You are have acquired the software illegally and are yet to find a crack for the next version, OR 2. You have let your subscription lapse due to not being happy with the product or financial issues. If this is the case I'd be interested in hearing your reasons, as its always interesting...

Mr. Spot -- Thanks for the help. This is a real pain, because I have to plot out the new design option in the master plan I am working on and I can do it, but since the option is not the primary, it will only show up "light grey" instead of black. and the reason I am on 9.0 -- is because the tech guy at the firm I work for has decided not to upgrade [I am unsure of the particulars]....even though we are on subscription and have 2009 (we also had 2008!!!??) Talk about frustrating. ALSO MR. Spot...how can I alter the corner window you uploaded to make it 90 degrees?

I can't remember 9.0 options but in 2008, in VG, you can set the view to show the option you want, no matter what option is current. In that way, the option should not be grey.

Well that is rather annoying... Give your tech guy a kick in the pants and tell him his making it harder for everyone... Yes, in visibility settings you can change the design option tab from <automatic> to the option you wish to display. I'm pretty sure it will display normal (ie: not grey), but my memory is a little fussy. Regarding that family, 90° when you are in the family places automatic constraints on the element. However, changing to 90° in the project is fine. The version I have here works fine at all angles up to 179°...
