Ok let me start off saying I know very little on how to create custom hatches/patterns/.pat files. Now I see in ADT 2007 there is a CMU_split_faced.pat hatch pattern that I want to use in my Revit model. I try to create a new custom material pattern in Revit, use the .pat from the ADT split faced .pat file and it says there is no model info in it. How can I make this a model material surface pattern does anyone know how to manipulate the text file (.pat) so that I can use it? we basically have running bond exteriors with banding of split face and non. Anyhelp ASAP would be greatly appreciated.

taken from my blog: 8. How do I change a model pattern to a drafting pattern or vice versa?Edit the PAT file using notepad and add or change the following values:;%TYPE=MODEL for model or;%TYPE=DRAFTING for drafting. You can also set the units with the following operator:;%UNITS=MM to set to millimetres… HTH.

Again thanks for your help Chris. You know I realized this easy fix after I posted the question and you beat me to the anwer post. =) I am trying to take out the squiggly lines though in the ADT2007 CMU_SPLIT FACE.pat and replace it with a sand hatch. I dont suppose you have the fix for that do you?

I had to play around with the numbers contained in the pattern file to get the correct density I wanted. The smaller the numbers for dash length, space and offset will achieve a denser model pattern. HTH
