I am trying to rescale my drawing to a smaller scale, but all the door tags, room tags, grids and fill patterns/hatches stay at the same size. I thought these would resize automatically when changing the view scale. How do i fix this? I am using Revit Architecture 2008 Student version.

hi
for grids, the best method is that difine 2 design option for grids.
1)make 2 different grid head small and large
2)difine 2 different design option for example scale 1:100 and a:1:500
3)difine 2 type for grid with different name
4)select all grid and add to both design opthin
5)now in desing option 500 select grid and change to an other type with small head
you can control with design opthin in V/G

This is one of the major advantages of Revit. All annotative elements remain the same printed size no matter what the scale of the view is. So 1/8" high text is always 1/8" in "paper space". Learn to LOVE it.
There are two types of hatches - model and drafting. Drafting always stays the same "paper space" size. Model hatches scale with the view.
So - for different scaled views, you need to adjust the locations of callouts-text-dimensions to fit the view.
