I am in the family editor and have three reference plans that i want to set an equal constraint for the two spaces between them. I put a linear dimension on each space and do not get the blue "EQ" above the dimensions. I have verified that the planes are currently set at equal distances and redid the dimensions but still not EQ option. Any thoughts of why or how to fix this problem.

A dimension string will only offer the EQ option if it is associated with more than two objects. In your example you need to place a single dimension string across all three reference planes, then you'll see the EQ appear. This will cause the two outside reference planes to remain equal spaced relative to the center plane.
Have you done any of the tutorials for family creation available under the HELP menu in Revit? It's a good idea and each one builds on what you learned in previous ones.

thanks for the help, my problems was actually how to string dimensions, I was placing one at a time and could not link multiple dimensions. very simple but I wasn't dialed in. I have done the tutorials but just missed the multiple dimension concept . Thanks again.
