HI

Two slabs, the outer one slightly lower than the other but not greater than the slab depth. I want to join them but it displays the error "Element could not be cut by joined element". The two aren't joined. If I move one of the slabs it allows me to join them but if I move it back to it's original position it unjoins them. I've been pulling my hair out over this. Is it something to do with the fact the curves are concentric? Hope you can help me. Cheers Dave F.

Edit the lower slab sketch.

You'll see on the inner arc on the left there are two curves.  One is at 40200mm radius and the other is 40199.7 radius.  Because of this small variation revit is unable to join the elements.  I deleted the 40199.7 and trimmed and aligned the arc to the arc of the upper slab.  Then joined geometry and it worked fine.

Hi

I tried that, but with no luck.

Did you use the align whithin the Edit of the lower slab? When i did that I it would select an entitiy to align with.

To solve the problem I trimmed the lower curve to the corner extent of the upper slab & used a straight line where it where they overlapped. Bit of a bodge but you can hardly see it.

Is this a know problem? Are there any other caveats like this that you're aware of?

Thanks for your help

Dave F.
