do you guys know a way to punch a hole in ground plane...? here is my issue... my ground level's view range is set to stop @ 0'0"... that's where the shadows hit aswell... i have a pool next to the house and ideally i would like the pool be certain depth (4,5' & shadows @ the bottom of the pool to get the feeling of the depth.... anyone did that before...?

Ground planes are an image that gets projected in rendering at the level you set. There is no way to 'punch a hole' in it as you describe. You should probably nix the ground plane idea and add a simply topo surface to your model where you do have conrol of the shape of the surface and can account for your pool depth.

Hi, Have a look at the images on the Tropical Design 1, 2 & 3 I posted at the Gallery. You notice there is a pool in between the 2 buildings. The 1' thick floor slad went around the pool. For the pool I created an instant model with a thickness of 1200mm and and offset to -1200 to place below the ground level. Here the pool depth is 1200mm (4' I then assigned water material to it. That is how I created that pool effect. Hope it answer your query here.
