A number in a text note on an Autocad Drawing that I imported got scrambled when the import appeared in Revit. Same result with linking or inserting. It is kind of sneeky and could be easily missed since only part of a number was moved elsewhere and the other part was left. See the attached printscreen images. Notice that not only did the "13'-1" move away from the 1/2" but that the space between the equal sign and the 1/2" got smaller. This kind of thing could be easy to miss when checking drawings! Any suggestions?

It is very easy to move the note describing the stair treads/risers that produce that dimension to a line of text under the dimension line. When this is done, the scrambled dimension problem goes away. The other problem is that many may commonly add text to the dimension text and not notice the sneeky way some of the numbers are moved while others remain when imported into Revit.

Not that this will help, but it will at least eliminate the possibility that it's just you're computer . I've never had much luck with special character's importing correctly from another format into revit. Something always gets moved to somewhere else. I usually just end up trying to avoid importing text, and redoing whatever text does end up getting imported (in revit) If you find a cure for this bug, let us know.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |
