Do you mean using the "Create Mass" tool? I think the quickest way would be to use the paint bucket tool and select a material from the drop down box.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |

i would have thought the paint bucket would have done it as well, but it doesnt seem to get the job done. What i did was i used the modelling tab and i clicked create... and selected a family, not sure what family i had selected, and clicked solid form, which allowed me to draw and extrude any shapes i wanted to make myself, and after finishing it i found i cannot change it from the basic gray. Hopefully this will help because i have no idea what to do about it.

You created an in-place family, which behaves like other families, in that you cannot paint any surfaces without editing the family. Select the object click edit and now you can paint individual faces or assign a material to each geometry extruded.

I C WAT U DID THAR! I thought you were talking about a massing model! Yes, if you click on the family, then select 'Edit Family' you will be able to change the materials of the family. Although, I think you should be able to use the paint bucket still. What version of Revit are you using Tcanuth?
