Hello, everyone! I've just started using Revit about 3 weeks ago and have already gone through tutorial on how to create the old, famous Gropius house. So, yes, I'm a newbie. I am now trying to create a small Spanish/Mediterranean style ranch home that's about 1200 ft. I've already laid out the rooms and locked the dimensions, as well as added all the windows, doors, and roof. My problems are as follows: I'm not sure how to define stucco walls. Right now I have typical 6" walls for everything. I also need to import a red, Spanish-style Villa tile roof, which is not part of the 9.1 library. Last, I need a fireplace that extrudes as a chimeny to the outside of the home and tapers thinner toward the top. I've attached a file of the floorplan and exterior to give you what I'm looking for. Hopefully, someone has already built this type of house in Revit and can steer me in the right direction. Thanks,Tele

you can define wall structure in the properties tab. just create a new wall from the one you are using and build the structure in edit/structure/construction. I haven't created a spanish tile roof or created a chimney. i think with the chimney you would create a component and then describe its form though the extrusion command

Here's one i did recently using OOTB revit materials. As for the tapered chimney, I've used the extrusion procedure as Telemakhos suggests and painted the surface(it was stone). The built in library is fairly well stocked.

Thanks for the replies, guys. What is the name of the roof tile through Revit? Where is it located and what is it called?

Hi Telemakhos,
I could have written your same post today with very similar questions, for same type of house.
Also a newbie, 3 weeks on Revit and having to model spanish tile roof and a tapered chimney, verbatim.
I you don't mind sharing your findings, I'd appreciate it.
Better to learn it than to discover it, which can take time...as we know.
Also, my project has a stone pattern that I'd like to cusomize, if you've figured out that angle for elevations.
Many thanks in advance,
JoseP
