ok i currentky have C in my Algerbra 2 class, and my parents were saying that my natrual talent doesnt matter when a firm would look at a my resume.  just wanted to get any opinons on this matter.

I think keeping good grades matters, but not necessarily to a prospective employer. I know professional engineers that *passed* engineering classes with D's. However, just because an employer may not hire you based on your math grades, that is no reason to not do your best in the course.

i know that i should try to get at least a B, since then ill get scholorship money for A B honor roll.

I don't think any reasonable employer will give a hoot about your grades. Nor what you have done in college, or how high your IQ is. It's all about your ability to just do it.

 

Production, teamwork, educating yourself to the business. These are major in ANY businessmans' eyes.

Yes, what framerman said plus ALWAYS doing more than the minimum.

 I have worked in large firms as well as small ones.  I currently run my own one person architectural office.  The one thing that I have always tried to do is exceed my client's expectations.

 If your extra effort gets clients to return, giving your firm more business - you will be golden during those "lean" times!

 If you "settle" for a C in classes then you should plan on being hired by a "C" employer and getting "C" wages for working on "C" projects.

oh and btw we had a compitiaion here called MITES and this weeks regionals i got first and best in class for a desgin i did. the catergory was a presantion, and we ahd to include all 2D views to indicate the scope of the project. for mine i included the floor plans and elveations and scheduals. next week is states, and dont know if were going to enter anything from my school, but think i might have chance.
