i'm a relatively new user of revit 9.1 and 2008. i'm looking to draw/model/create on the existing phase rather than the new construction phase by default. i'm having to change each element from new to existing everytime after i make it. thanks.

The elements you addto the mdel take on the phase your view is set to. Simply duplcate your view and change the phase of the duplicated view to 'existing' Anything you add via this view will then be set to have been created inphase existing.
