I'm trying to parametrically control the color of rooms in a floor plan. ie, if a room is over 2000' it shows up one color and if it is under 2000' it shows up another.
my first stab at this is to create a custom parameter (type integer or number) in the schedule and then create a conditional formula. right now it's: =IF (Area < 2000', 1, 2)
then I would link the color palette to respond to this parameter. but when I enter the formula I get a warning message that reads "The following string is not recognized: Area. Formulas cannot refer to other parameters. Only constant expressions are supported".
do schedules not handle formulas at all?
I'm using revit 9.1...

just found out a really simple work around: set the color fill to respond to area, then instead of a value have a range. set the range at the target size (in my case, 2000' ) . works like a charm. Edited on: Thu, Apr 26, 2007 at 8:17:43 PM
