I am having having problem adjusting the size and scale of viewport on drawing sheet. i am trying to put two viewports on the same sheet: one for enlarged room plan (1/2" scale) and one for floor plan with (1/8". can anyone help?

Not AutoCAD - no viewports - just views. You can set the scale of each view from within the view. You can get there by opening the view from your browser or you can place the view on the sheet (any-where) then right click in it and choose "activate view". Now you can set your scale. If you need to adjust the limits of your views, get into the view & right click to choose view properties. From there you can adjust your view crop regions.
