I noticed that when I entered the base height of my roof into the properties, it sets the intersection of the exterior of the wall (including the finishes) and the roof at this height. This would set the plate height accurately if the wall was only a stud layer, but it isn't. Does anyone know how to get the plate height accurate? I need to get the wall's core and the roof intersection to be at the entered height.

i'm not sure if this is the right way to do it but we get over it by placing the roof level at say 2400 above FFL. We then 'cheat' by drawing a wall plate and positioning so it courses. We then manually adjust the roof height by moving it vertically to suit the plate level. Does anyone else know of another method?

We use an energy heel on our trusses that positions the vertical rise of the truss 9" above the plate aligning with the outside face of stud. To make all our heels 9" we offset the roof a precalculated amount based on the pitch of the roof, e.g. a 7/12 pitch offsets the roof 2 81/128" whereas a 12/12 offsets 1 57/256". If 2 roofs of varying pitches connect, we adjust the steeper pitch roof individually to align the facias based on the overhang in the elevation views.
