Does anyone place a full sheet setup inside their template file? If so, when do you place the titleblocks if you do not know what size the sheet is going to be? I would like to set them up inside template but it seems like I would have to do a template for each titleblock. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks

title blocks are designed to sheet sizes, i think you need to know the sheet size to do the title block you can place as different title blocks within a single template file as you like i think i might not understand what you are asking, if so maybe someone else can help. HTH

Coreed's suggestion is exactly what we have done. We made a titleblock family for each of our sheet sizes and types, including sketch sheets and presentation sheets. We have all of these in our template file so that they are immediately available when needed. Stephen

in addition to the other suggestions, we go even further. each sheet has its relevant set of standard notes, as much as we can do. we also preset our views, with phases and levels and more, ready for placing onto the sheets. in some cases, those views are even on sheets, with very little in them of course. we do loads of extensions, so presetting stuff has helped immensly.

Yes, I understand about the titleblocks in the template but I was more interested in what latemore has to say about actually setting up your sheets in the template with notes, views, and other stuff. But I saw a problem with it if you do not know what size drawing you are going to be using. So I wanted to know who actually places all of their sheets sets into the template in order and with titleblocks. thanks

Ah, I see. We have not gone to that extent, even with our older AutoCAD projects. I can certainly see the benefits, though, especially if a firm has many similar project types or many projects for one client. Our projects vary in size and scope to such an extent that we have not attempted this.
