I am trying to "get" how to set up a window schedule that will multiply width X height
to produce window areas in my window schedule, but keep failing...
Is a tutorial (or good samaritan) around that can give me a "cookbook" approach to
do this ??
Also, can windows be scheduled indicating which way (N.S.E.W.) they face....

Create a window schedule and add the fields you want to include, such as height, width, type etc...
Now click calculated value, give it a name ie: window area
Select the type as an area;
Then type the formula,
Height*Width
Click okay,
There you go...

that works great i did not know i could do that. that will make great for window glazing and ventuilation requirements. not to mention i can now add egress sf numbers also. revit has made my dealings with municipality plans reviewers alot easier. ican can give them the numbers they want with very little effort. is there any thing outthere that i can gert that gets more indepth with advanced formulas with revit.

Revit comes with a help section on tutorials. It explains the syntax & operators.

Thanks for the help, I kept putting the formula to calculate the area in with an =sign
and realized my error...
The ideal window schedule for energy audits and minimum window areas would be to calculate % of glazing area for ea room.
Is it possible to create these parameters and make a schedule out of them???

Yeah it would be good. There is no automated way of doing this other that to go into each of you families and create shared parameters for area of glazing and add formulas to calculate the totals.
