Hi All I am having a really difficult time joining roofs - it should not matter if they are differing slopes, right? Any tricks? How about cutting the geometry out once they have been joined? Is this possible? I am also having difficulty with some exterior wall end gables, the kind that run past the sloped roof and would have a stone cap.... I am finding that every time I modify the wall profile in elevation, the corners can't wrap anymore. I am trying a work around that involves me making a wall on top of another wall so that I can modify the upper wall's profile to follow the slope of the roof beyond. Please advise Thanks

Is it possible you could post some screen shots? It's hard to tell exactly what the problem is. You could have numerous items to check out. Different slopes are fine, cutting geometry is fine. I think there could be a problem with walls going through a roof, then back out the other side. The corners might not work like you said. Your workaround would be a good step. Have you checked your edit wall joins and checked the butt and mitre and extra configurations? I assume you have one or two walls going into the wall in question perpendicular, but not to the height of the gable correct? This could be your area to look at.

I have attached a sample image of what the problem is. I am creating some architectural end gables to match an existing building. I have also attached a photo of an example of the condition I am trying to re-create for my new addition. In the image taken from the Revit model, I built a new wall on top of a lower wall so I could modify the profile. In the small bump out below, I tried modifying the profile of the wall instead - it works for the right side end gable but not the left side. In plan view, the corners do not wrap well. The wall type is a brick on cmu cavity wall. Please advise. Thanks

hehe, I meant the other stuff about the roof. I got the gable part. What I did was create just a quick gable profile somewhat like you have. Take a look and see if it matches what you got there. You might just be better off deleting the wall or roof in question and redraw it.

Hi Yes, this is pretty much what I am trying to do. Your walls in plan wrap at the corners, but mine don't. Did you draw the wall with the gable end first, and then modify the profile before you drew the other walls?

I have not tried the butt or miter joints yet either... should I be doing that too?
