I have the same question as this person posted (which did not get a reply)

"I have a site plan (topography) for our current project in AutoCAD.  The issue I've encountered is simply selecting the Import Symbol when trying to create a toposurface from our .dwg file.

Everything appears to link fine and seems correctly scaled, etc.   However, when I try to create the toposurface by using the command 'Use Imported -> Import Instance', I can't select a thing.  Is this is a common issue or is there a setting while linking/importing that I am missing?

Other Info:

I have 'Site' selected in the project browser.

We use AutoCAD 2006 and Revit 9.1

The topo is all polylines."

Import from within the "toposurface" menu.  When you do it, it will give you the opportunity of selecting which layers to use for the topo surface.  Within the autocad drawing, you either need points or lines at the correct elevation.

Have tried importing from within the "toposurface" menu, however still can't select the imported 3d import symbol. Any other solutions? Thanks

Read in Revit blog. You may try this tips.

In Revit Building 9.1, when a DWG or DXF survey file is imported with the Current View Only checkbox checked, you cannot select the DWG/DXF instance to create a terrain model from the instance like you could with 9.0 and earlier versions. So imported data to be used for creating a toposurface must be imported with the Current View Only checkbox cleared.
