I m trying to insert information from an exel spread sheet into some fields of a Telephone Device Table. I would like the fields telephone number to read the data from the exel spread sheet. instead of having to insert them manualy through revit. Would that be possible? Is there a way that i could link a field to a txt file or .doc file like it s done for the structural elements in revit where all the date is converved and linked to a .txt standard file. Glenda

Since Revit will not link to an excel spreadsheet here is a work-around. Not nice but it will work. Open an AutoCAD dwg & OLE link in your spreadsheet. Then you can link that into REVIT. You would have to double open and update both trhe autocad & revit files each time the excel sheet changed. NOT very clean & a chance for screw ups. INSTEAD - Why not just highlight your excel file cells - copy them and then paste directly into a revit text box. You may have to add a few cells but this works & is a lot cleaner. You probably could even mess with legends if you wanted to compose it differently.
