Has anyone explored whether Revit projects can be geo-referenced (that is, given 'real world' coordinates, such as a lat & long)? I have been told that you can 'relocate' a project so that it inserts into correct position in relation to other linked projects, but what about using these 'real world' coordinates? For example, if I have a GPS point taken at a site to define a corner of a building, and want to use this to define the same corner on my project. Another use for georeferenceing would to be able to auto-insert aerial images into files. If this is not currently possible, I will certainly make the wish. -Osir

Under the spot elevation tool is "spot co-ordinate". Use this only required corner, then edit the co-ordinates to what you require them to be (eg: 0,0)

I know this is an old thread. However I am working on a project and I need to make my BIM model geo-referenced.

I was provided with a point on the project that I need to set to the following location:

EUREF89 596.550,000/6.642.730,000

I am not sure how to enter this information into Revit for "Specify Coordinates at a Point" option in Revit 2010

Revit wants you to enter something like:

596.550 / 642.730

Does anyone know how to enter the above EUREF89 location into Revit?

Any news on this, "spot co-ordinate" does not use GPS points.
