Hi, I'm working o a building that has got mesh panels sitting outside the external wall face. I have started by modelling a thin transparent wall with a model-pattern on the surface. This works fine and looks all right in 3D but in elevation everything behind the mesh panel is hidden even though it is transparent? How can I turn a pattern on a transparent object to be transparent in 2D? (section, elevation or plan) I have tried to find information on this subject on both internet and in Revit Help but with no luck. Any help appreciated! Regards, Bjorn

I think you will have to use a filled region with a transparent background.

Has anyone figured this out? I also have a mesh screen on the exterior of my buildign and cannot create a panel material that would allow to see through in elevation.

Grrrr... I have like 90 panels on each side of the building... That will be a pain to coordinate! Thanks anyways.

I use 'Overide Graphics In View -->By Element' and make the walls "Transparent". By doing this the surface pattern still shows up but you can still see through the "spaces". You will have to do this in all views that you want to show through.I use this method for chainlink fencing.

Not sure exactly what you mean by see-through wire mesh? Any pics or anything? -J http://www.bwire.com/
