When I try to place a window i get the following error message and I dont know what i,ve done wrong. Can someone help. I am a beginner at revit.

The message is as follows: can't make type dhung3...

None of the created elements are visible in floor plan view. You may want to check the active views, its parametersa and visibility settings as well as any plan region and their settings

Have I done something that I shouldn't have done.... Please help getting very frustrated

It sounds like there is an error in the family. Please attach the file to a reply for people to look at.

Did you make the window? Where did it come from?

also try placing the window in 3D. Some time the default settings in the windows will be at 20' so it will not place it in plan..

check the base offset in the properties button before you place the window. it could be set a lot higher that the current level cut plane and it would not be visible when you place it.
