I am working on a 1 story office building project which is linked to another revit file from our strutural engineer. The elevation annotations are overlapping eachother(when the two files are linked) I went ahead and turned off the "Level" annotations in the linked file visibility. So, that problem is solved. Somewhere along the line the roof level note got changed to "Level 3" when orginally it was "Level 2" (Although nothing happened to the rest of the model, just the note). It is still called out on the project browser as "Level 2", but when you open up the elevations/sections, it shows up labeled as "Level 3" and it is black, not blue. Does anyone know what happened here?? And how can I fix it? Thanks!!!.......

I'd really have to see it to understand what you're saying about it being black and not blue. But did you try selecting the level, and going into properties. There is a parameter that should say something like "Title on Sheet" (I can't look to verify this because Revit is rendering something right now. If someone else could verify, this would be great). This allows you to have change the name of the level in a view without changing the name of the level throughout the entire model. See if that is the case, and let us know.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |

Thanks for the reply! Actually somehow there was an extra note that was overlayed on top of Level 2 and was saying level 3. And normally the level annotations come up with a blue font color and this was black. Somehow this ended up in my drawing. Not really sure, but its gone now...I just deleted it and it went away without screwing up my orginal level 2...I must of hit something I shouldn't of....does anyone know if it has anything to do with linked Revit file? or why this would happen, just so I know.

Without an image to check, my gut feeling is that the level was copied and you cannot see the Level 2 line as it is either not crossing the crop region for your section/elevation or the annotation was hidden. If the Level head is what you are refering to the most likely reason it is black and not blue is that there is not a corresponding view associated with that level. Create one and the level marker should turn blue (the blue color indicates that the symbol is an active link to another level, typically). HTH.
