I have created a group of modeling lines and now want them to only appear in one view. Is it possible to transform this group of modeling lines into a group of drafting lines?

Unfortunately it is not possible to do this, due to the model lines being associated to a specific work plane and drafting lines having no reference.
Best bet is to export the view out to DWG,
Then re-import the lines "current view only" and explode... This information will now be 2D.
