I created a dentil molding falily as an extrusion and the dentils as a parametric array that changes with the length of the molding. The family has been created as a wall-based component. The piece work perfectly in the family editor but when imported into a project the dentils start on one side on the extrusion (they way it should be) and then piece by piece disapear into the molding. It's kinda hard to explain. I will upload a picture later tonight. Thanks for any help.

It sounds like the problem you are having is that both of your array objects (the first object and the second or last of your array to determine spacing) are not constrained properly from the wall, or work plane. Add a locked dimension to both of the geometries so that they are the same offset from the wall plane or reference plane and that should take care of your problem.
